The Terry Fox Run is organized and led primarily by Grade 12 students. From planning the route and promoting the event to collecting donations and coordinating the activity on the day of the run, senior students take responsibility for the entire process.
Through this experience, students not only contribute to a meaningful charitable cause but also develop leadership, teamwork, and organizational skills while working together for the community.
Funds raised during the event are donated to support a child from outside the school community who is facing serious illness and financial hardship due to cancer or other life-threatening diseases. The goal is to provide both practical assistance and emotional encouragement for the child and their family.
In many cases, the student organizers also participate in delivering the donations and visiting the child or their family. These experiences allow students to witness the real impact of their efforts and understand how compassion and small contributions can bring hope to others.
Over the years, the Terry Fox Charity Run has become one of the most meaningful traditions at the school, reminding students that through determination, generosity, and unity, they can make a real difference in someone’s life.
